As of Dec 6, sugar plants produced 2.4 mn MT sugar

08.12.2006 17:16 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — As of this year Dec 6, Ukrainian sugar plants have made 2,405.560 MT beet sugar, up 558,400 MT against last year similar, reported National Sugar Producers Association Ukrtsukor.

As to Ukrtsukor, presently plants are producing 17,970 MT sugar daily, up 15,300 MT against last year similar.

Report says in total 64 sugar plants are functioning now.

As to Agro Perspective earlier report, Ukrtsukor had forecasted this year country sugar beet crop would be not below 20 mn MT (sugar output — 2.1 mn MT).

Experts estimate domestic sugar market annual capacity 2–2.2 mn MT.
