Yushchenko signed amendments to Law “About Pesticides and Agrochemicals”

12.12.2006 09:13 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Ukrainian President Viktor Yushchenko has signed Law № 335-V "About Bringing Changes into Article 7 of Law of Ukraine «About Pesticides and Agrochemicals» (adopted by Parliament on Nov 14, 2006), reported President press-service.

Newly signed Law introduces amendments to article 7 of Ukrainian Law «About Pesticides and Agrochemicals» (which stipulates protection of information given within pesticides/agrochemicals registration process in Ukraine).

New Law prohibits to use within 10 years since pesticides/agrochemicals registration date information contained in pesticides/agrochemicals safety usage instructions without prior permission of economic entity which had initiated pesticides/agrochemicals registration.

Law was adopted due to obligations taken by Ukraine within WTO (World Trade

Organization) joining negotiations. Law is targeted at bringing Ukrainian legislation into line with current EU/WTO legislation requirements (in part. EU Directive 91/414/ÅEÑ).
