Emergency response experts sent to Vanuatu in cyclone aftermath

The emergency response experts have been sent by the WHO (World Health Organization) to Vanuatu, UN Radio says referring to the WHO report.
As to the report, this action has been launched following a devastating cyclone that struck the Pacific island nation over the weekend. Reportedly, the Cyclone Pam, with winds of more than 250 kilometres per hour and one-metre storm, ravaged Vanuatu on Friday and Saturday.
As to the report, now WHO is coordinating response efforts with Vanuatus Ministry of Health and other humanitarian partners to support the country.
WHO says that while the damage caused by Cyclone Pam in Vanuatu is still being assessed, there are reports of deaths and serious injuries.
Homes have been destroyed and there is limited or no access to health services, food and clean water in many places.
As to the report, the cyclone created debris that has blocked roads, knocked down bridges and creating flooding. Besides, electricity is out in many placed and phones and Internet systems are down or unreliable in the Pacific island country.
It is to be admitted, in addition to sending emergency response experts to Vanuatu, WHO together with the UN Childrens Fund (UNICEF) and the Ministry of Health, are continuing an immunization campaign against measles which began before the cyclone.
