Shymkiv: National Council of Reforms has discussed first achievements and plans

"The National Council of Reforms has discussed the implementation of anti-corruption, judicial, law enforcement and civil service reforms," President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports quoting the Deputy Head of the Presidential Administraton, Secretary of the National Council of Reforms Dmytro Shymkiv as saying following the meeting of the National Council of Reforms of February 2.
«February 10 will be a deadline for the submission of applications for the post of Director of the Anti-Corruption Bureau. Then, the candidacies will be submitted to the President for his signature and to the Parliament for the approval,» Shymkiv admitted.
As to him, within end of April a preventive anti-corruption body is to be established in Ukraine the National Agency for Prevention of Corruption. Also, he said, the contest for the post of Head of the Project Office of Reforms had started. It will last a month. Project Office of Reforms is an institution under the National Council of Reforms aimed at supporting the process of reforms in Ukraine at the cost of the EBRD grant.
Besides, Shymkiv noted significant attention was paid to the implementation of the Plan of States Recovery for 20152017 and coordination of all strategic and operational plans. «Ukraine has a vector European integration and key indicators Strategy-2020,» he said.
Also, he admitted the draft law «On Civil Service» had been negotiated in the context of the wages of civil servants. «There is a restricted state budget. Thus, we have to elaborate a model of transition to the new remuneration system,» Shymkiv emphasized.
Besides, Shymkiv told that the second part of the meeting of the National Council of Reforms would be held in two weeks. It will focus upon the holding of the Donor conference, the reform of state-owned enterprises and the implementation of the initiative «Digital Ukraine».
