Ukrainian President: We are ready to immediately summon the Trilateral Contact Group

Within the yesterday meeting with the Prime Minister of the Republic of Poland, the President of Ukraine informed on the present situation in Donetsk and Luhansk regions and emphasized that «despite escalation of pressure and activation of terrorists, Ukraine is ready to sign the ceasefire agreement given the adherence to the Minsk agreements», President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, while commenting on the statement of the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry of January 18, 2015 on the fulfillment of the Minsk agreements, the President of Ukraine noted: «Ukraine is striving for peace. We are ready to immediately summon the Trilateral Contact Group in order to ensure the elaboration and signature of the schedule of the Minsk agreements implementation».
Reportedly, the President insists that all the agreements based on the Peace Plan include all the key elements necessary for the immediate de-escalation and stabilization of the situation, as well as the beginning of the Donbas recovery, namely: ceasefire, restoration of the Ukrainian control over the Ukrainian-Russian state border, full and immediate withdrawal of foreign troops and mercenaries, pullback to the delimitation line of September 19, 2014, withdrawal of heavy armament, liberation of hostages and illegally detained persons, improvement of the humanitarian situation in the region and holding of local elections under the Ukrainian legislation.
