Yanukovych doesn’t exclude grains export quoting resumption

After having had examined condition of Odessa region drought struck sown crops last Sun, Ukrainian Premier Viktor Yanukovych said he wouldn’t exclude grains export quoting renewal due to country agriculture difficult state caused by unfavorable weather conditions. «We are going to discuss ways to overcome this situation, we will gather country goods and agricultural producers as well as traders, yet we will adopt a responsible decision, not a populist one,» declared Premier. Yanukovych admitted quoting would be introduced only if necessary. «No matter who will try to press on Government, or even put labels on Government, we will adopt only that decision which is in line with State interests,» affirmed Premier. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, Ukrainian Cabinet had introduced grains export licensing in Sept 2006 (quoting in Oct 2006). As to Agro Perspective, end Feb 2007 Cabinet had cancelled feed grains export quoting; mid May 2007 Cabinet abolished wheat and wheat/rye mixture (mesline) export quoting.
