European Energy Community supports Ukrainian National Energy Efficiency Action Plan until 2020

This was discussed at a meeting between the Ukrainian Vice Prime Minister Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities Hennadiy Zubko and the Director the European Energy Community Secretariat Janez Kopač, Government Portal reports.
As to the report, within the meeting Zubko said that the Ministry of Regional Development had approved a Ukrainian National Energy Efficiency Action Plan until 2020, which should also be approved by the Government.
«The European Energy Community has considered this project and supported it completely,» Kopač informed.
As to the report, Kopač assured that the Energy Community supports steps undertaken by the Ukrainian Government in the preparation and development of legislation in the field of energy efficiency.
However, he also noted that the Energy Community expressed a number of comments and suggestions on the Ukrainian draft Law «On Energy Efficiency in Buildings» owing to non-compliance of its provisions with requirements of the EU Directives on the energy efficiency of buildings.
In turn, Zubko made a proposal to agree the text of the draft Law with the requirements of the relevant EU Directives during the preparation of the draft Law for the second reading in the Parliament.
As to the report, the meeting participants also discussed the preparation of the Ukrainian draft Law «On Effective Use of Energy Resources», which, in particular, offers to introduce energy labeling and standardization, energy audit and management.
