Kuban’s maize beats records

Krasnodar Territory’s agricultural experts have named 2004 year “year of tilled crops”, due to soybean, beet, sunflower and maize (being presently harvested) having yielded high crop. Maize grain harvesting is drawing to its end, with 90% of all maize areas having been already harvested at and gross crop totaling 1.385.800 tons. Maize is harvested in Krasnodar Territory’s 30 districts. Only two districts, - Otradnenskiy and Mostovskiy, - haven’t finished harvesting. Leaders in gross maize grain harvesting are agricultural companies of Novopokrovskiy district, which have harvested 139.400t maize grain. They are followed by companies of Kushchievskiy (106.600t), Tikhoretskiy (105.700t) and Labinskiy (85.300t) districts. Leaders in maize grain yielding capacity are companies of Labinskiy (7.42t/ha). Gulkevichskiy (7.40t/ha), Korenovskiy (6.88t/ha), Novokubanskiy (6.43t/ha) and Vyselkovskiy (6.12t/ha) districts. Krasnodar Territory’s 9 companies have got maize grain crop surpassing 0.1t/ha: CJSC KSP Khutorok (13.1t/ha from area 502 ha); SPK Rodina (11.3t/ha from area 372 ha); FGUP OPH PZ Kuban, Ust-Labinskiy district (10.36t/ha from area 124 ha); FGUP OPH PZ Leninskiy Put, Novokubanskiy district (11.5t/ha from area 275 ha); CJSC Druzhba (10.8t/ha from area 525 ha); CJSC Kubanskaya Step, Kanevskiy district (10.33t/ha from area 364 ha); OPH Kuban-Luks, Korenovskiy district (10.6t/ha from area 1.115 ha); OPH PZ Kuban (10.6t/ha from area 380 ha).
