Ministry of Agrarian Policy to spread prices State regulation over meat, milk and butter
08.04.2008 17:15 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As to draft Law “About State Support of Agriculture of Ukraine” (published on Ministry of Agrarian Policy official website), Ministry of Agrarian Policy has proposed Cabinet to extend prices State regulation over meat, slaughter animals by-products, milk powder, butter, rye flour, buckwheat, peas and millet. As to draft Law, minimal or maximal interventional prices should be fixed for each food article subject to prices State regulation. Draft Law puts forward new method of minimal/ maximal interventional prices determining: thus, minimal prices will be calculated on basis of food article branch average normative expenses, income minimal level and internal/external markets conjuncture, while maximal prices will be calculated on basis of consumption/producers prices (for corresponding time period) and internal/external markets conjuncture. Draft Law says minimal purchase price of certain food article subject to prices State regulation can’t be changed within fixed time period save for cases of internal/external markets conjuncture significant alteration; minimal purchase price can be changed only with Cabinet decision. As of now, currently efficient Law “About State Support of Agriculture of Ukraine” stipulates prices State regulation for wheat, mesline, rye, barley, oats, maize, flour (wheat, mesline), soybeans, flax (rape) seeds, sunseeds and hop cones. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, Cabinet had established prices State regulation for wheat, mesline and rye for Jul 01/08-Jun 30/09. As to Agro Perspective, Cabinet had established prices State regulation for wheat, mesline, rye, sugar (produced from sugar beet), barley and maize for this MY (2007/08).
