Lviv region procures 91,000 tons of bread grain

As of August 8, Lviv region’s reserves of bread grain comprised 91,000 tons or 86.7% of the necessary three-month basic reserve, reports the pres service of the regional state administration quoting Ivan Stefanishyn as saying.
Farmers have sold 2,100 tons of grain to the Agrarian Fund of expected 18,100 tons.
Overall, 7,200 tons of bread grain are procured for the state’s reserve, according to estimated data of the administration’s agrarian department.
Slow procurements of bread grain by some regions is attributed to uncompleted harvesting, lack of 3rd and 4th grade grain, disparity of purchase prices of the Agrarian Fund and current market prices, press services refers to the administration’s agrarian development department.
As of August 1, farmers of the Lviv region have harvested 394,900 tons of grain and leguminous from 142,000 ha with grain yield of 27.8 metric centners/ha.
