USDA: World sugar output to decline by 9 million tons

As to the USDA, global sugar 2018/2019 MY output will decline to 185.9 million tons (down 9 million tons against 2017/2018 MY), while global sugar consumption will reach record high, Ukrainian National Association of Sugar Producers says referring to the Reuters report.
As to the report, global sugar 2018/2019 MY output decline is to be explained mainly with Brazil sugar cane crop reduction and Brazilian producers having decided to switch mainbly upon the ethanol output.
So, it is expected that Brazil 2018/2019 MY sugar output will decline by 8.3 million tonnes, down to 30.1 million tonnes.
Meanwhile, Indian sugar output, on the contrary, will boost by 1.8 million tonnes and reach record 35.9 million tonnes.
As to the USDA experts, the global 2018/2019 MY sugar consumption will boost to 176.8 million tonnes from 174 million tonnes within 2017/2018 MY.
