Three Ukrainian cities completely switched over to green energy

As of this week, the mayors of Zhytomyr, Kamyanets-Podilskiy and Chiotkiv have signed a memorandum with the international climate organization 350.org, due to which they have undertaken to gradually transfer the energy system of their cities to renewable energy sources, Ukrinform says referring to Svitlana Romanko, coordinator of the international climate organization 350.org for the Eastern Europe, the Caucasus and Central Asia, report.
«We are grateful to our mayors for being the first among the Ukrainian mayors to join the Memorandum. Thus, in particular, the mayor of Zhytomyr has already signed a Memorandum to transfer the city until 2050 to the 100% of renewable energy within his city energy balance,» she said.
Besides, she also noted that now, within Sept 78, a global climate mobilization takes place; 200 cities around the world have already joined this project.
