Ukraine is going to boost its gas output by 50 million cubic meters until the yearend, by another 500 million cubic meters - within next year, and thus to achieve a complete energy independence by 2020, Government Portal says referring to the Ukrainian Prime Minister Volodymyr Groisman report made at Kherson State Maritime Academy while communicating with cadets and faculty members yesterday (within farmeworks of his working trip to Kherson region).
«Within half of the year, we will have produced by 50 million cubic meters of gas more. Next year we will extract over 500 million cubic meters of gas in Ukraine. Within 5 years up to 2020, we can boost gas production up to 7 milliard cubic meters. It means that we will actually live on our own gas output,» Groisman stressed.
«Ukraine has to become energy independent. Gas output is among the Government priorities. Within 3 to 5 years we will be able to enhance gas output and cut gas consumption. This will enable us to reach total independence of imported gas,» Groisman summed up.
