World closer to ending modern slavery
11.11.2016 08:02 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The world is closer to ending modern slavery with the entry into force of an international protocol on forced labour, UN Radio says referring to ILO (UN International Labour Organization) report.
As to the report, presently 21 million people worldwide are victims of forced labour. They include farm workers, migrants, domestic workers, seafarers, women and girls forced into prostitution, as well as those who are abused, exploited and paid little or nothing.
Reportedly, Argentina has became the 9th country to ratify the protocol and has agreed to host a global conference within next year Nov on child land forced labour.
