Pope Francis urges UN: Keep up fight against hunger

As of yesterday, within a brief meeting with Mr. Jose Graziano (Director-General of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) and Ertharin Cousin (Head of the World Food Programme (WFP),
the leader of the Catholic Church, Pope Francis, called on the UN to «keep up the fight against hunger», UN Radio reports.
It is to be admitted, in a mass attended by 100,000 people on last week Sun at the Vatican, the Pope declared Mother Teresa a saint and said she had shamed world leaders for the «crime of poverty» they had created.
It is to be reminded, born in 1910 in todays Macedonia, Saint Teresa of Calcutta was widely recognized by her work with the poorest in India.
In 1979, she was awarded the Nobel Peace Prize, «for work undertaken in the struggle to overcome poverty and distress, which also constitutes a threat to peace».
