Scientists forecast 2006 peas crop boosting from 616,000 MT up to 670,000 MT

As to Hydraulic Engineering and Melioration Institute (Ukrainian National Academy of Sciences) experts forecasts, this year peas crop is probable to grow to 670,000740,000 MT (up against last year 616,000 MT). As to experts, this year peas yielding capacity can reach 17,519,5 metric centners per ha (steppe zone)/21,323,3 metric centners per ha (forest-steppe zone). As earlier reported, in 2005 agrarians had harvested in total 616,000 MT (in terms of weight after additional processing) peas, with agricultural companies having harvested 593,700 MT. 2005 peas crop average yield equaled to 19,8 metric centners per ha; peas were harvested at 311,100 ha.
