Situation in Donbass discussed by 'Normandy Quartet' leaders in telephone talk

As of yesterday, German Chancellor Angela Merkel, French President Francois Hollande, Russian President Vladimir Putin and Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko by telephone discussed the results of the last meeting of the Trilateral contact group and its four subgroups, held July 21 in Minsk, NRCU says referring to the Ukrainian President press service report.
As to the report, Poroshenko admitted the situation had deteriorated in Donbas, including raised number of attacks by the militants.
Reportedly, the Normandy Quartet leaders in the conversation noted the need to ensure proper monitoring and verification of the ceasefire by the OSCE (Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe) and supported the Ukrainian Presidents initiative concerning the urgent signing within the trilateral Contact Group of an agreement to withdraw tanks and cannons with caliber under 100 mm as well as mortars.
