Ukraine to intensify efforts to ratify EU and ILO fundamental documents in social area

"Despite the ordeals Ukraine faces today, the current Government is determined to reform the social area of our country according to the European standards," Government Portal reports quoting the Ukrainian Minister of Social Policy Pavlo Rozenko as saying while opening yesterday a seminar on the ratification by Ukraine of international documents on social security of citizens.
As to the report, the tripartite seminar, within which are to be discussed ways of Ukraine’s ratification of the ILO Social Security (Minimum Standards) Convention No. 102 and the European Code of Social Security, was held in Kyiv on Jun 30. The Ministry of Social Policy and the ILO are organizers of the event.
«These documents outline the strategic direction of the social area’s development in Ukraine. And this prospect is uniquely European. Despite the enormous social and economic problems facing our state, we do not put aside the measures aimed at reaching European living standards of Ukrainians,» the Minister underlined.
