WFP: China donates US$6 million to help "reverse Ebola advance"

China has contributed US$6 million to the UN Food agencys emergency operation in response to the Ebola virus outbreak in West Africa, UN Radio referring to the WFP (World Food Program) report.
As to report, an estimated 1.3 million people have been impacted by the virus in Guinea, Liberia and Sierra Leone.
The donation will allow WFP to purchase vital food supplies for more than 300,000 people for one month.
Reportedly, the WFP and its partners are also supplying food to people under medical quarantine, patients receiving treatment, as well as their relatives and affected communities.
In meanwhile, Denise Brown, WFP Regional Director for West Africa said the contribution comes at a very difficult time when the world needs to «reverse Ebolas advance».
