Ukrainian President following meeting with Russian President: “Certain progress has been achieved” in energy issues

Following the meeting with President of Russia Vladimir Putin, President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko told that «certain progress» had been achieved in energy issues, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
«We haven’t managed to achieve practical results in gas issue. But we hope that by the meeting between delegations of Ukraine, Russia and the European Commission in Brussels that is to be held on October 21 we will have found the solution to energy issues,» the President stressed.
As to the Head of State, both parties confirmed that Minsk protocol of September 5 and Minsk memorandum of September 19 are «the key documents that should define further actions».
Besides, the President emphasized that the key elements were the ceasefire and practical steps on the control over its compliance through «monitoring and verification of the ceasefire with involvement of the OSCE».
Moreover, the Presidents coordinated the increase of the number of UAVs from France and Germany at the first stage and from other countries at the second stage under the auspices of the OSCE.
«We agreed that additional equipment must be involved including video cameras, satellite systems and radars that will help define the guilty of violating the ceasefire,» Petro Poroshenko said.
