13.07.2012 09:15 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Ukraine and the Netherlands will develop cooperation in agriculture. It is not just an exchange of experience, technology of production and development of common training programs, but specific investment in the Ukrainian agricultural sector, Ivan Bisiuk, Ukraines Deputy Agricultural Policy and Food Minister, said at a meeting of the Ukrainian-Dutch workgroup for agriculture.
«To date, the ministry is actively working to increase investment in the domestic agricultural sector. International cooperation is benefited by the geographic location of our country, and climate, and a huge labor force, and the land on which quality food can be produced and livestock kept. We are interested in the experience of the Netherlands, so we believe that cooperation with this country would be effective,» the official noted. During the working group meeting, the sides discussed joint initiatives of both countries concerning the exchange of experience and advanced technologies of production, storage and primary processing of agricultural products, as well as the development of common training programs for farmers. «We discussed the conduct of trainings for farmers and agricultural professionals, as well as prospects of cooperation in the areas of vegetable production, greenhouses, dairy breeding and potato farming. This will be the cooperation not only of two states, but also private companies that are ready to invest in the Ukrainian agriculture. And in the next few months we will develop projects to be introduced in Ukraine and they will give positive results,» Bisiuk noted. The next workgroup meeting will be held in the Kingdom of the Netherlands in the autumn.
