Baranovskiy considers agrarians losses will hit UAH1 milliard due to diesel fuel/railway tariffs prices boosting

As Oleksandr Baranovskiy, Minister
of Agrarian Policy has declared on Ukrainian Grain Forum Grain Industry -
2004, he is convinced owing to petroleum products/railway cargos
transportation tariffs prices growing domestic producers losses will
reach " UAH1 milliard.
«Just due to sowing campaign crop harvesting period petroleum
products prices boosting Ukrainian agrarians will loose UAH800 million;
still UAH200 million will be lost owing to railway tariffs growth,» declared
Baranovskiy.
He added agrarians budgetary support, though being provided, won
’t assure necessary results and will be low-effective this year.
«Thus, from UAH1.7 milliard allotted as budgetary support, UAH1 milliard will be leveled down,» precised Minister.
Baranovskiy reminded once again, as to experts calculations,
2005 grain crop cost price will be much higher against 2004 similar.
As earlier reported, due to petroleum products market
destabilization Cabinet authorized Ministry of Economics to regulate until
Jan 1, 2006 Ukrainian domestic market diesel fuel/motor petrol wholesale
prices.
Ukrzaliznytsia had boosted cargo (incl. foods) transport tariffs since
Apr 6, 00.00 (due to Cabinet Decree № 91-ð from Apr 1).
Ministry of Agrarian Policy forecasts this year grain export will hit 37.4 million tons.
