Ministry of Agrarian Policy initiates sunoil export quota raising by 200,000 MT, up to 700,000 MT

Ministry of Agrarian Policy has proposed either to grow sunoil export quota by 200,000 MT (up to 700,000 MT) or abolish it, reported Minister of Agrarian Policy Yuriy Melnyk. “It is proposed either to raise quota at least by 200,000 MT or completely refuse from quoting,“ declared Melnyk. Melnyk said he plans to meet with Minister of Economics Bogdan Danilishyn on May 15 to discuss this issue. He added Government is possible to examine quotas raising/abolishment problem in short run. “We will have this problem settled until Cabinet next session,” admitted Melnyk. As earlier reported, Apr 23, 2008 Cabinet had enlarged sunoil export quota by 200,000 MT, to 500,000 MT. Apr 16, 2008 Commission for Sunoil Export Quotas Distribution had approved decision to distribute 0.3 mn sunoil export quota between exporters. Quota was shared between 40 companies with biggest volumes granted to: Kernel Trade (Holding Kernel Group) – 90,586 MT, Suntrade (Bunge Ukraine) – 67,533 MT, Grain Trading Company (Holding Grain Trading Company Allseeds Ukraine) – 23,972 MT, Zaporizskiy Oil Extraction Integrated Plant – 18,380 MT and Kreativ – 16,006 MT. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, within Mar 2008 retail sale network vegetable oil prices had climbed 2.6-23.6% (up to UAH10,82-13,16 per liter against Feb 2008) in all regions shops.
