UAC proposed to Cabinet to introduce unified system of grain market monitoring

Ukrainian Antimonopoly Committee (UAC) has offered to Cabinet to establish definite system of grain market monitoring as well as to organize statistical data collection system covering grain (incl. food grain) market monthly movement, reported UAC press-service. As to press-service, UAC has as well offered to Cabinet to purchase necessary grain lots for State reserves repleishment as well as to create regional grain stocks in order to assure State Food Reserve/Interventional Fund maximally high grain volumes. UAC is convinced proposed measures will contribute to country grain market stabilization. As to report, UAC has as well proposed to create system assuring Ministry of Agrarian Policy/other power bodies quick gathering of data on export contracts concluded on country goods exchanges making it possible to react timely on market situation without any administrative interference. «It is exactly now when it is very important to take control over process of grain resources accumulation by market players in order to evade traders possible grain speculations. That’s why Antimonopoly Committee bodies will watchfully control on how State power bodies as well as other market participants observe current competitive legislation,» reported press-service referring to Oleksiy Kostusiev, UAC Chairman, declaration. As to Agro Perspective earlier report, as of Aug 30, country agricultural companies had harvested 29.782 mn MT grain at total 11,963.000 ha (82% total planned areas). Earlier Ministry of Agrarian Policy had recommended to regional authorities to create 1.5 mn MT regional grain reserves (what is enough to cover regions inward food grain needs within 3 months).
