Ukraine/Netherlands agricultural products mutual trade up 69%

As of yesterday, a meeting of Ukrainian First Deputy Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Maxym Martyniuk with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Ukraine, Eduard Hooks, took place within Kyiv, Ukrainian Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food reports.
As to the report, within the meeting, the results of the Ukraine/Netherlands mutual trade and economic cooperation and the potential of bilateral relations within the agriculture were discussed.
As to Martyniuk, the Ukraine-Netherlands 2017 mutual trade has grown 69% against 2016 (the first quarter of 2018 - up 21% against 2017 similar, mainly due to boosted export).
«In 2017, the trade turnover between our countries amounted to almost US$1.5 milliard, of which Ukrainian exports - US$1.28 milliard; as of 2017, the Ukrainian agricultural products’ export to the Netherlands boosted by 80%. Among the promising and strategically important areas of cooperation for the near future is the development of organic foods,» Maxym Martyniuk admitted.
He added that, as of 2017, Ukraine firstly exported to the Netherlands a lot of apple seedlings, what is a good indicator of this sphere trade having had started to get balanced - since earlier the gardening products had been only imported from the Netherlands.
As to Martyniuk, now Ukraine is ready to boost the shipments of flour and grains industry, meat products, natural and mineral water, molasses, residues and wastes of the food industry, and many other agricultural products to the Netherlands.
