Governments support WFP in Mauritania

A US$5 million contribution from various governments will support the World Food Programme (WFP) in feeding thousands of hungry people in Mauritania, UN Radio reports.
As to the report, the WFP will provide cash and food transfers to roughly 77,000 people during the lean season and throughout this year Sept, improving nutrition and livelihoods within four of the six regions within the country where malnutrition is at highest levels.
As to the report, the funding, announced yesterday, was provided by the European Union and the governments of Germany, Japan, France, Spain, Monaco, and Saudi Arabia.
