UN chief urges world to make 2017 "a year for peace"

As of last week, while speaking ahead of New Year Day, UN Secretary-General called on citizens, governments and leaders around the world to make 2017 a year for peace, UN Radio reports.
As to the report, Guterres urged people to join him in making this shared resolution.
As to Guterres, the new threat of global terrorism affects everyone, so the whole regions are presently destabilized by various crises.
As to the report, in his message the Secretary-General urged people to try to overcome their differences and make a daily commitment to peace.
It is to be admitted, António Guterres was selected in an unprecedented and open process from 14 candidates for the post of UN Secretary-General.
The former Prime Minister of Portugal and UN High Commissioner for Refugees António Guterres becomes the ninth UN chief and succeeds Ban Ki-moon.
