President introduced new Kyiv RSA Head Maksym Melnychuk

As of yesterday, the Ukrainian President Petro Poroshenko introduced the new Kyiv RSA (Regional State Administration) Head Maksym Melnychuk to the staff of the RSA. He substituted Volodymyr Shandra who wrote a letter of resignation a few days ago, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, Poroshenko is confident that Maksym Melnychuk can develop the potential of Kyiv region in new directions having significant experience in the international activity, investment and innovation projects. «It is very important that all his life is tied with Kyiv region,» the President said.
It is to be admitted, the President had got acquainted with new RSA Head in the course of the negotiations on the FTA between Ukraine and the EU.
«Maksym was among participants of the negotiations and he is well aware of all the benefits the FTA opens for Ukraine,» Poroshenko said.
As to the report, the President drew attention to the potential of agricultural sector of the country and Kyiv region in particular. As to him, access to new markets and expansion of opportunities would increase revenues of local and central government and create new jobs.
Despite war and economic destabilization, Kyiv region must actively attract investments, as stated by the President. The Agency of Regional Development has already been launched. It will create investment projects and look for business partners. Industrial parks are being actively developed. There are 16 such sites in Kyiv region today ranging from 15 to 110 hectares.
«From now on, attracting investments is the key task and efficiency criterion for local authorities along with decentralization. If you master these tools, Maksym, you will be able to solve social problems and raise the level of life in Kyiv region,» the President emphasized.
