EU to give Ukraine EUR30 mln worth of grant aid

The European Union will give a 30-million-euro grant to Ukraine to continue the implementation of four cross-border cooperation programs that Ukrainian Economic Development Ministry had signed with the European Commission,
UNIAN says referring to the the Ministrys press service Facebook report.
«Thanks to the signed agreements, the EU extended until Dec 31, 2016 Cross-border Cooperation Joint Operational Programs Romania-Ukraine-Republic of Moldova 20072013, Poland Belarus Ukraine 20072013, Hungary Slovakia Romania Ukraine 2007 -2013 and the Black Sea Basin 20072013,» the press service admits.
As to the report, the funds will be used for further development and modernization of international road border crossing points on Ukraines border with Romania, Poland and Hungary.
Also, a waterway border crossing point for kayakers will be built in Vylok on the border with Hungary.
Reportedly, part of the grant package will be channeled into the development of modern IT infrastructure in border and customs service offices, reinforcement of flood hazard areas within the borders, improvement of the environmental situation in the «Lower Danube» region, provision of expertise to integrate Ukrainian and Moldovan power systems into ENTSO-E Continental European Power System.
