As of today, the Ukrainian Prime Minister Arseniy Yatseniuk has met with ambassadors of the Group of Seven Member-States Government Portal reports.
As to the report, the meeting discussed the issue of energy security.
Reportedly, Yatseniuk said that this is an extremely important issue for all the G7 Member-States.
He reminded that last year Ukraine together with the G-7 countries had managed to reach a tripartite agreement at the level of Ukraine, European Union and Russia on gas supplies to Ukraine and gas transit to the EU.
Reportedly, Yatseniuk urged the G7 Member-States to support Ukraine in the implementation of the same mechanism: «In order to ensure safe transit to the EU and gas supply to Ukraine on the basis of a comprehensive agreement between the EU, Ukraine and Russia, which should include a tripartite protocol and addendum to the current contract between Naftogaz and Gazprom.»
«Together we can achieve success in getting a similar agreement, which we had last year,» he underlined.
As to the report, Yatseniuk also emphasized that the Ukraine Government highly appreciates the support of the Group of Seven in the Ukraine’s fight for its independence and territorial integrity.
«We call on Russia to fulfill the Minsk deal. The Ukrainian Government is doing its utmost in order to implement it. We really appreciate your support and your steadfast stance regarding this issue,» Yatseniuk emphasized.
