Experts meet to discuss how to reduce world hunger

The global fight against hunger and poverty is being put under the spotlight over the next week as international experts gathered in Rome, UN Radio reports.
As to the report, theyre meeting at the 39th biennial Conference of the FAO (UN Food and Agriculture Organization), to be held within Jun 613.
Reportedly, the 39th FAO conference will highlight the fact that despite much progress, high levels of poverty, hunger and vulnerability remain in many countries around the world.
As to the report, the eradication of hunger and extreme poverty are expected to be central to the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) international targets that will replace the Millennium Development Goals at the end of the year.
Reportedly, the delegates are to discuss how the new goals can effectively reduce poverty and food insecurity, build resilience, and help catalyse agricultural and rural development.
As to the report, one of the first moves of the Conference is to re-elect the incumbent Director-General of the organization the Brazilian national, José Graziano da Silva.
His new term will run until Jul 2019.
