Ukrainian President held a broadened meeting on eve of Trilateral Contact Group session

As of yesterday, on the eve of the Trilateral Contact Group session on the peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas that will be held on June 2 in Minsk, the Ukrainian President held a broadened meeting with Ukraine’s TCG representative and Ukraine’s participants in TCG working subgroups, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
As to the report, the meeting was also attended by security officials.
Reportedly, the President underlined the need for strict fulfillment of all the items of the Minsk agreements and more active involvement of the OSCE SMM officials in ensuring the ceasefire regime and control over the withdrawal of heavy weaponry from the entire collision line.
As to the report, particular attention was paid to the necessity of intensifying the process of liberation of Ukrainian hostages detained by militants. «There is no explanation to the absence of progress in this issue,» Poroshenko said.
Reportedly, the parties also discussed the enhancement of coordination between the international organizations aimed at simplification of the delivery of humanitarian aid to Donbas in compliance with all international procedures and more active involvement of ICRC, OSCE SMM and ODIHR representatives.
Besides, within the meeting the President also highlighted the importance of restoring control over the Ukrainian-Russian border for the prevention of the inflow of terrorists, weaponry, drugs, contraband and counterfeit goods in the territory of Ukraine.
