Ukrainian President held a meeting with leaders of Verkhovna Rada deputy factions and groups

In the course of the meeting, the Head of State claimed that he had made a series of decisions on systemic changes in the management of the power block, President Petro Poroshenko Press Office reports.
President admitted under conditions of military operation, the power block «requires reinforcement and serious, complex, systemic reformation».
«Today, we need decisiveness and professionalism of servicemen for the efficient actions in the CTO area,» Petro Poroshenko emphasized.
According to the President, currently, the key problems of the Armed Forces are the enhancement of combat capability of the army and supply of material-technical resources.
The Head of State stressed that when making decisions on staff appointments of the power block, he was guided by principles of professionalism, decisiveness and devotion.
The President of Ukraine noted that he would submit to the Verkhovna Rada the candidature of Colonel General Valeriy Heletey to the post of Minister of Defense and the candidature of Lieutenant General Viktor Muzhenko to the post of Chief of the General Staff. The Head of State noted that in order to coordinate actions and improve the level of controllability of the power block, he appoints Yuriy Kosiuk to the post of the First Deputy Head of the Presidential Administration on the given issues.
Also, the Head of State drew attention to the fact that even in conditions of current challenges for the state, when all forces must be mobilized, the facts of corrupt actions by military commanders are being recorded. «I will insist on cleaning the army of thieves and corrupt officials. All corrupt military officials must bear responsibility under the Law for their actions against the people of Ukraine,» Petro Poroshenko claimed.
In the course of the meeting, the President underlined the importance of implementation of the peace plan for the Donbas, the key item of which is decentralization. Petro Poroshenko emphasized that he had submitted for consideration by the Verkhovna Rada the draft law on amendments to the Constitution that gained support from the society in order to hold a complex reform of local government and decentralization of power. The Head of State noted that in the course of the election campaign, he had visited all the regions of Ukraine with the project of amendments to the Constitution and promised Ukrainians to convey more powers to the society.
Petro Poroshenko also touched upon the issue of parliamentary elections that is still topical. «Parliamentary elections meet the expectations of the society,» the President said noting that he stands for the proportional electoral system of open lists.
