Quality jobs are a key driver for development, UN Radio says referring to the findings of a new report by the International Labour Organization (ILO).
Launched on Tuesday, «World of Work», the ILO’s annual report, is this year focusing on «developing with jobs».
It is being presented in Geneva, where the international organization is based.
Drawing on evidence from more than 140 developing countries, the report finds that a common factor amongst those countries that have achieved higher per capita income and sustained growth was quality jobs.
The 2013 edition focused on «repairing the economic and social fabric».
It analyzed the global employment situation five years after the start of the global financial crisis in 2008.
