29.11.2013 10:23 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
As to Mykola Azarov Official Website,
the letters supporting the adoption of the order to suspend the signing of the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the European Union continue arriving at the address of Mykola Azarov and the Government. Representatives of various organizations expressed their conviction that Ukraine should be in the European Community, but it is necessary, above all, to protect the interests of their own state and its citizens.
«Dear Mr. Azarov ! The Ukrainian Public Organization of Disabled People (UPODP) „Chernobyl Union of Ukraine» supports you in making a courageous and balanced decision on the suspension of the preparation for the signing of an Association Agreement with the European Union," says the letter of the UPODP President Yu. Andreev.
He noted that in the Baltic countries, that entered the EU and NATO, the system of social protection of war veterans, Chernobyl veterans and the Afghans was completely destroyed. «So, today we basically on your side, Mr. Azarov, and express support for your actions,» said Andreev.
The principals of the children’s art center and one of the secondary schools also expressed their opinion. According to them, Ukraine is undergoing a difficult road of approval in the European geopolitical space as an independent and powerful state. In this crucial period the signing the agreement could do harm to the national and economic interests of our state. Therefore, the representatives of educational institutions consider the CMU decision to postpone the signing of the Association Agreement correct and convincing.
It is to be recalled that on 21 November an order to suspend the preparations for the signing of an association agreement with the European Union was adopted. At the same time the Prime Minister Mykola Azarov emphasized: «We will use the pause of the situation to continue improving the Ukrainian legislation on the European principles, improving democratic standards in the economy, rapidly introducing technical regulations and standards of the European Union and improving the competitiveness of the domestic economy. The Government guarantees that Ukraine will continue to move towards European integration as it is in the interests of Ukraine and in the interests of our people.»
