Ukrtsukor declares about sugar (produced from raw sugar) domestic market continuing sales

Association Ukrtsukor has declared sugar
(produced from imported cane raw sugar) continues to be sold on domestic market despite Cabinet order to stop selling since Sept 2, reported Myckola Yarchuk, Ukrtsukor Chairman.
«Sugar produced from raw sugar continues pressing domestic market,» stated Yarchuk.
Yarchuk made it known Ukrtsukor is worried about present situation/considers executing this sugar sales during sugar beet processing period will negatively affects prices.
As earlier reported, Sept second half State Reserve had sold 110.100t sugar (of
planned total 110.600t), thus having had finished domestic market prices stabilizing selling of sugar produced out of imported raw sugar.
Cabinet had commissioned State Reserve to acquire 250.000t sugar within 2005/06 MY in order to assure domestic market stability.
It is to be reminded, Cabinet had decided to stabilize domestic sugar market by means of State Reserve raw sugar importing.
Cabinet plans to import 120.000t raw sugar without EUR300/t entry duty paying.
Government had elaborated raw sugar import special scheme assuring produced white sugar to be sold on domestic market at acceptable prices.
End Mar domestic wholesale market sugar prices had started boosting after long stability period, resulting in retail trade network sugar prices growth.
Jun sugar prices had boosted to UAH3.564.65/kg (up 11.340.6%) on all regions markets against May.
Experts estimate domestic sugar market annual capacity 1.82 million tons.
