Ukrtsokor asking Cabinet for sugar plants preferential credits

Association Ukrtsukor has asked Cabinet to bring sugar plants among companies having right for bank credits interests State Budget partial compensation, reported Myckola Yarchuk, Ukrtsukor Chairman.
«We must understand that money allocated to sugar plants as credits for sugar beet purchasing will, finally, be directed to domestic goods producers. Thus, domestic market
two constituents will be in profit,» declared Yarchuk.
He added banks should also grant credits on ready products (sugar) mortgage.
«Now credit granting institutions don’t give any sugar mortgage credits due to their being unaware of future sugar prices,» admitted Yarchuk.
As earlier reported, sugar plants are purchasing this year crop sugar beet UAH170210/t.
It is to be reminded, Ukrtsukor forecasts 2005 sugar beet crop boosting to 16.8 million tons, up 0.2 million tons (+ 1.2%) against 2004.
Ukrtsukor forecasts sugar output 1.86 million tons.
Experts estimate domestic sugar market annual capacity 1.82 million tons.
