15.02.2013 09:47 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Russia’s Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev believes that meeting the ambitious target of ensuring Russia’s yearly economic growth at 5% is possible, Voice of Russia reports.
Speaking at the Krasnoyarsk Economic Forum in Siberia the Russian prime minister said that even though the 5% target presented quite a challenge, it was essential to pursue a number of important projects, first of all, in the hi-tech sector.
Russia is in need of a brand new model of economic growth amid the ever increasing demand for high quality education and healthcare and an effective social policy, Medvedev said.
According to Dmitry Medvedev, this demand which demonstrates an increase in living standards would be unimaginable in a weak state.
The government needs substantial investments to meet these challenges, the prime minister said.
