Memo on resumption of gas supplies to Ukraine from Turkmenistan inked

On February 13 in the course of an official visit of Ukrainian delegation led by President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych to Turkmenistan the parties signed a Memorandum on mutual understanding between Naftogaz of Ukraine and Turkmengaz which envisages stirring up bilateral cooperation in gas area - resumption of gas supplies to Ukraine and European countries, Government Portal reports.
Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine Eduard Stavytskyi announced that the signed Memo will enlarge cooperation of the countries in oil and gas area. It concerns notably resumption of gas supplies to Ukraine and European countries and exploration of deposits on the territory of Turkmenistan.
Eduard Stavytskyi noted that the amount of supplies, issues of transportation and other details will be worked out later. «Ukraine will participate in open tenders for exploration of deposits on the territory of Turkmenistan which will facilitate increase of volumes of trade turnover between the two states,» informed leader of the Ministry of Energy and Coal of Ukraine.
