Products falling in price Ukraine
04.10.2011 15:12 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Cereals and sugar are massively falling in price at Ukrainian shops. The reason consists in the good yield. Thus, for instance, buckwheat is a very popular product, it fell in price by more than twofold over a month.
In the meantime, important events are developing on the grain market. As it is known, duty for grain export is in effect. This brought to the fact that export has actually stopped from the country, internal prices for grain do not allow exporting it with profit and therefore the commodity is kept till the New Year. But if duty is prolonged for 2012 (and everything goes toward that end, a relevant bill was submitted), the internal market will face a price collapse. Which, in general, is good for consumers, but not for producers: due to excessive stocks grain prices may fall by another UAH 200250/ton.
