Farmers protesting against export duties on cereals outside parliament
04.10.2011 14:16 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
Nearly half a thousand farmers are picketing the parliament Tuesday, protesting against the governments intentions to extend the export duties on cereals. Their appeals to the government for abolition of such fees have not been heeded.
The pickets came with banners reading «Export duties genocide of manufacturers», «No to destruction of the village!» and «Budget to peasants, not oligarchs». As reported, the government intends to extend the export duty on wheat, barley and corn, as well as to introduce starting on January 1, 2012 export customs duties also on soybeans, rape and sunflower oil.
