Mykola Azarov held a first meeting of the new Cabinet

25.12.2012 11:19 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) — Yesterday Ukrainian Prime Minister Mykola Azarov held a first meeting of the new Cabinet, Government Portal reports. It is to be reminded, President of Ukraine Viktor Yanukovych signed the corresponding decree on appointment of members of the Government on December 24. Mykola Azarov has congratulated members of the Government on the appointment and wished them good health, perseverance, energy, inspiration. The Prime Minister emphasized that the Cabinet works as a team, which must implement the policy of the President and to ensure the development of the country. Already today the newly appointed ministers will introduced to staff of ministries. The PM noted that among the appointed ministers are those who have a significant experience, but before this time they have not led the ministries and departments. This allows us to re-evaluate the work of these bodies and find new approaches to solving problems. At the same time Mykola Azarov expressed confidence that the ministries have experienced professionals and traditions that will help new heads. «The work of the minister - is not only a management of the colossal industry, but necessary decisions and developments and the ability to exercise effective control over their performance» - said the Prime Minister. In this case, Mykola Azarov said that the ministers should more consult with experts and the public and they should more often visit the regions in order to know the real picture of the brunch. The main task of the new Cabinet Mykola Azarov named the fulfillment of economic development. «Only economic growth will ensure the growth of social standards,» Mykola Azarov said. The Prime Minister set the task to develop a program of action of the Government for 2013–2014, which would ensure the economic development with practical component. By its development must join all the ministries. The program should be backed up with resources: credit, investment and budget. The resultof work in 2013 depends mainly on this. Special attention the Prime Minister focused on the improvement of the trade balance of Ukraine and, consequently, on the production of competitive products and promotion of Ukrainian goods to foreign markets. «We have to protect our own markets and learn to promote our products,» said the Prime Minister. Mykola Azarov also pointed out the ministers on the need to be «more public» available for the press to inform the society on the work of the Cabinet of Ministers, the important decisions which are taken. «We have to be public, to be able to act and to defend our positions and to tell people about the work. As we have a lot to tell, because it has been done much,» Mykola Azarov summed up. The Government in the new composition took the first solutions that provide livelihoods of the country during the holidays and social issues. In particular, according to the needs of individual territories, it has been redistributed subsidy from the state budget for the implementation of state social protection programs: such as aid to families with children, disabled children, disabled since childhood. Also, an unallocated amount of additional subsidies for the alignment of financial security of local budgets was distributed - the money will be used primarily to pay salaries. Besides, a list of budget programs pursuant to the Law on the 2013 State Budget was approved.
