Germany will help Ukraine to produce bio-fuels

Ukraine and Germany will intensify cooperation in the field of bio-energy. Germany also will facilitate the implementation in 20132014 years of promising projects for the production of biofuels in Ukraine. This was discussed during the Ukrainian-German meeting on cooperation in the development of energy production from biomass, Government Portal reports. The event was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food, Federal Ministry for Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety of Germany, Embassy of Germany to Ukraine, the Ukrainian Research Institute of Forecasting and testing equipment named after Pogorelov and the Scientific and Technical Institute of the National Academy of Ukraine.
Director of the Department of Engineering and Technical Support and Agricultural Engineering of the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food of Ukraine Oleksandr Hrygorovych informed the German side of the positive changes that have occurred in the domestic legislation in terms of promoting the production of bio-fuels. Also the specialist analyzed resource potential of Ukraine for the development of bio-energy and perspective directions of cooperation between Ukrainian and German enterprises for the production of energy from renewable raw materials.
The Head of Department for cooperation with the countries of Central and Eastern Europe of the Federal Ministry of Juergen Kaynhorst has expressed the willingness of Germany in 2013 to provide technical assistance for the development of bio-energy in Ukraine. He also noted that German investments can be brought for the introduction of pilot projects.
Director of the Ukrainian Research Institute of Forecasting and testing equipment named after Pogorelov Volodymyr Kravchuk and Director of the Scientific and Technical Institute of the National Academy of Ukraine Valerii Dubrovin have presented establishing pilot bio-energy projects, which provided the production of thermal energy and biogas from agricultural waste using advanced German technology and equipment.
