Boyko: Ukraine to increase gas production to three billion cubic meters in 2013

Whiles speaking to Ukrainian TV channel, Minister of energy and coal industry Yuriy Boyko said increase in own gas production is a main priority of the development of the energy sector of Ukraine, says ForUm referring to the press service of the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine report.
Boyko stressed that now Ukraine is actively developing gas fields at the Black Sea Shelf.
«Next year, due to the modern equipment we use now, we will take the first place in gas production among the countries of the Black Sea region and will produce gas more than all of them put together - three billion cubic meters,» the minister admitted.
Boyko noted that the gas production will be increased by the field development on land attracting leading oil and gas companies in the world. However, the government will pay attention to the development of social infrastructure in the regions, where the gas will be produced.
