19.11.2012 09:47 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
The Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine urges manufacturers of bakery products to reduce prices on their own, without waiting for the verdict of the Committee, deputy director of market research department of the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine Yuri Prokopenko told a briefing within last week, ForUm correspondent reports.
According to the officials, the PJSC Kyivkhlib unreasonably increased the bread price. The prime cost of Ukrayinsky and the Kyivsky kinds of bread included overprice of ingredients, which led to the unjustified price increase.
«Thus, the company overestimated the flour volume, contrary to the formulation of appropriate bread kinds. In addition, the yeast, oil and salt prices were well above the market average. All this has led to an overstatement of cost prices,» the expert said.
He added that according to the preliminary data, the wholesale prices have been already reduced by 1415 kopecks per unit. «The Committee strongly recommends that this and other bakery products manufacturers reduce costs on their own, not waiting for our verdict,» Prokopenko said.
