Khoroshkovskyi has opened the high-level seminar on customs cooperation

As to Government Portal, First vice Prime Minister of Ukraine Valeriy Khoroshkovskyi attended the opening of high-level seminar on customs cooperation on the eastern border of the EU the «Breaking Borders» in the framework of the European Neighbourhood Policy, which takes place in Kyiv on 1112 October 2012.
In his welcome speech the First vice Prime Minister praised the event of such level in Kyiv. He stressed that the reform of the customs service remains one of the most important tasks of the Government and said that in this case Ukraine is oriented to EU standards.
Mr. Khoroshkovskyi also noted the importance of the adoption of the new Customs Code of Ukraine and the approval of the Framework Strategic of customs cooperation with the EU. «Implementation of the strategy will contribute the modernization of the Customs Service of Ukraine, establishing cooperation in information exchange and implementation of an effective risk management system in the fight against customs offenses» - he stressed.
The event brings together more than 100 representatives of the customs administrations of the Member States of the EU and partner countries of the European Neighbourhood Policy, as well as the delegation of the European Commission and the World Customs Organization.
The seminar provides a platform to discuss issues of cooperation in customs sphere, including harmonization of customs legislation, activities of authorized economic operators, simplifying and speeding up of customs procedures.
