Azarov: Ukraine to develop gas production to ensure energy independence
07.09.2012 10:27 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
While launching the second stage of the Yuliyivske oil and gas deposit in Kharkiv region (eastern Ukraine) on Thursday, Prime Minister Mykola Azarov said the government is planning to pay particular attention to the development of projects to increase the production of Ukrainian gas, what is a priority on the road to energy independence, NRCU reports.
«I want to congratulate you on opening the second compressor plant this year, which allows us to solve problems, first and foremost, increase gas production, which is very important for us, and most importantly, ensure Ukraines energy independence,» Azarov said. He said that the projects to increase the production of hydrocarbons and energy efficiency would be a priority for the government. «The commissioning of such modern stations allows us not only to create new jobs, but also to increase the efficiency of the operation of our old fields, increasing the volume of gas production,» the prime minister said.
