Cabinet to rise railway cargos transportation tariffs up 50% since Apr

Cabinet has decided to grow
railway cargos transportation tariffs averagely by 50% starting since
Apr, report press-agencies referring to Prime Minister Yuliya
Tymoshenko speech on Sat Government session results.
«We have agreed to raise railway tariffs averagely by 50% since
second year quarter beginning,» said Tymoshenko.
She added cushioning coefficients will be introduced (in part.
for grain transportation) if some goods appear to be unprofitable due to
new tariffs establishing.
Tymoshenko made it known Interdepartmental Commission
(participated by Ministry of Industrial Policy, Ministry of Agrarian
Policy, Ministry of Economics, Finance Ministry as well as representatives
of other branches actively using railway transportations) will be created.
Earlier Yevgheniy Chervonenko, Minister of Transport and
Communication, declared Transport Ministry had worked out 4 tariffs
variants: without rise, with 30% rise, with 50% rise and with 100% rise.
As earlier reported, agrarian market experts consider
possible grain transportation tariffs rise will result in agricultural
companies profits fall/ springtime field works financial resources
insufficiency.
As to Ukrzaliznytsia, presently transport companies pay for flour
transportation
UAH24.4/t (up to 655 km), while since Apr 1 price will reach UAH36.7/t
(same distance).
Grain transportation price since Apr 1 will equal to UAH39/t (up to 560 km),
against current UAH32.9/t, while sugar transportation price since Apr
will be grown from UAH21.6/t to UAH 32.5/t (up to 548 km).
