Prysyazhnyuk: Support for individual farmers is not in the amount of subsidies, but in their effective us
27.02.2012 09:23 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
In 2012 year most of funds of the state budget allocated for the agricultural sector will be focused on the development of livestock, including dairy. This was stressed by Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Mykola Prysyazhnyuk during his last week working trip to Chernihiv region.
Now, under the condition of a three-level form of agriculture, - these are farm, individual and mainstream production economies, - financing is to be primarily aimed at the development of the individual farms and collective farms.
«We are going to motivate and finance family farms that feed 3 or more cows, in the amount of UAH 10 thousand for a milk cow. In addition, compensations will be granted for milking equipment expenses, and families that keep more than 5 cows will get compensations for coolers,» Mykola Prysyazhnyuk said.
Prysyazhnyuk also admitted the Ministry of Agrarian Policy and Food together with agricultural enterprises have started developing a project to create a dairy cooperative and several purchasing cooperatives which are to control purchase prices for the agricultural products. So, the effectiveness of subsidies lies in their appropriate use, Mykola Prysyazhnyuk believes.
«We explain to farmers that they can not compete against mainstream producers in the sphere of grain production, so they are better to get engaged in the production of milk and meat,» Mykola Prysiazhniuk stated.
