Ukraine exports 80,000 tons of cheese to 16 world countries annually
15.02.2012 13:15 "Agro Perspectiva" (Kyiv) —
This was disclosed by Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk who said that 65,000 tons of this amount are exported to Russia.
According to the Minister, over 30% of cheese exported to Russia falls on three factories, whose cheeses were banned by Rospotrebnadzor. «In other words, a ban for export of the product of those plants is substantial, but not catastrophic», the Minister emphasized. The decision to suspend fulfillment of agreements on solution of the Ukrainian «cheese problem» that were reached during negotiations of Russian chief state sanitary doctor Gennady Onishchenko with Agrarian Policy and Food Minister Mykola Prysiazhniuk confirms suspicions regarding the political background of the issue.
